The Industries Best In-Person Five-Day NFIP Flood Bootcamp™
You may have searched on the web on
“how to become a certified flood adjuster?”
The first place the search will take you to is Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) or other web pages that use the word certification associated with flood adjusting.
The word “certification” is widely used in the flood adjuster industry, however it is misused. NFIP does not provide “certification”of flood adjusters, only “authorizes” flood adjusters. The authorization is divided into 5 different classifications:
Dwelling
Small Commercial
Large Commercial
Manufactured Home & Travel Trailer
Residential Condominium Building Association Policy (RCBAP)
The NFIP Flood Bootcamp™, presented by Top End Adjuster Training, LLC, provides a comprehensive certification training for anyone who is willing to make a commitment required to obtain the specialized knowledge to become a flood adjuster.
The comprehensive training allows the adjuster to work their way up through the ranks earning the “Certified 5-Star General Flood Adjuster”. When the adjuster completes each of the NFIP Flood Bootcamps™, defined by the authorization of NFIP Bureau & Statistical Agent, earns a 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 STARS as a general flood adjuster.
Once the flood adjuster earns their first STAR, they have joined the rank of General Flood Adjuster. The General Flood Adjuster will always retain the rank, however, they will be classified as “active or in-active” based upon completion of annual requirements of NFIP Flood Bootcamp™ and will be associated with the annual issued Flood Control Number (FCN Card).
The annual requirements to retain an “active” status of a Certified General Flood Adjuster by the NFIP Flood Bootcamp™ are
- Have an active FCN Card and upload to the adjuster Bootcamp portal annually.
- Attend an NFIP Annual Claims Presentation (NFIP or Company Sponsored) and upload the certificate of completion to the adjuster Bootcamp portal annually.
- Provide a current portrait photo (no hats) and upload to the adjuster Bootcamp portal annually.
- Attend one of the NFIP Flood Bootcamp™ annual presentations; “Beyond the NFIP Claims Presentation” webinars; In-depth view of important items or changes that have taken place in the NFIP Claims Manual. 2-hour CE credits.
- Purchase and completion of case studies for the annual subscription to the “Pencil Sharpener - Basic” the same day as submitting a certificate of attending the NFIP Annual Claims Presentation.. 4- hour CE credits.
- The adjuster will receive the active Certification Card within three weeks of completion of items 2 and 5.
